Annexation is the legal process for including unincorporated areas into the corporate limits of the Town.  To begin this process, at least 25% of the property owners within the area to be annexed must submit a formal petition to the Town requesting annexation.  The property must abut the corporate boundaries.  The Town then schedules all necessary State, County and Town review procedures, advertises the request, prepares a Resolution formally outlining the area to be annexed and any specific annexation conditions, posts the property, and conducts at least one public hearing on the request.
