Town of Bel Air Closes Parks and Announces Temporary Changes to Services

DPW Truck 373x336

Bel Air, Maryland - March 23, 2020 – In response to growing COVID19 concerns and to promote wellness the Town of Bel Air will institute the following precautionary measures:

  • Effective immediately all Town Parks will be closed
  • Department of Public Works will NOT be scheduling or collecting Bulk trash

Your Town government is doing everything possible to maintain services to each resident, while ensuring the safety of all. Please be patient as there may be delays because of service related to staffing shortages and emergency calls. At this time, we plan to continue collection of yard debris.

We ask that residents be mindful while taking trash to the curb and be certain it is ALL bagged tightly to protect our sanitation workers. We are seeing an increase of septic line issues related to “Wet Wipes” or “Flushable Wipes”, this product does cause problems with our infrastructure. We ask that citizens refrain from flushing these items that cause blockages in the sewer system.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the above please feel free to reach out to Public Works at 410-638-4545 or use our online tools.

Patti Parker, Community and Public Relations Manager, 443-903-1811, pparker@belairmd.org.
