6-7pm Beginner Swing/Foxtrot Lesson Description:

East Coast Swing is a fun, upbeat dance, distinguished by its "rock step" and swing hip motion. We will be covering both single time east coast swing and introducing triple step east coast swing. You will learn basic turns, leading and following.

The foxtrot is a smooth dance where the dancers travel across the dance floor. The long walking movements contribute to the iconic sway motion. We will focus on being able to move around the floor with our partners, moving turns and connection.

7-8pm Beginner Cha Cha/Rumba Lesson Description:

The Cha Cha is a playful and flirtatious dance known for it’s vibrant energy. Although it is traditionally danced to up-beat music with a Latin or Cuban beat, today it is common to dance the Cha Cha to many current styles of music including Top 40, Pop and R&B. The Cha Cha is a great dance to learn for weddings and social events. We will focus on the American style of Ch Cha.

The Rumba is considered to be one of the most beautiful Latin style dances, earning it’s nickname as “The Dance of Love.” It is characterized by swaying hips, a still upper body, and close partner connections. Although it is traditionally danced to slow Latin music, it is now common to dance the Rumba to current, popular ballads. Because of this, the Rumba is a popular style choice for a wedding dance and slow partner dancing. We will focus on the American style of Rumba.

Note: In case of Instructor Illness/Bad Weather cancelation, classes may be rescheduled to March 23/30, 2023.
