Steve is a life long member of Bel Air.  He grew up in Howard Park on the west side of Town where he graduated from St. Margaret School and Bel Air High School.  Steve attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Over the next 40 years, he worked for the Department of the Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground evaluating and performing studies of various Army tactical communication systems. For 29 years he held various leadership positions, supervising up to 40 engineers and scientist.  During the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, Steve also led a group charged with evaluating technologies to counter improvised explosive devices (IEDs) for the Department of Defense.  Steve retired from the Department of the Army in 2019.

Steve and his wife Karen live in an historic house which they designated and renovated over 40 years ago and where they raised three children.

Steve has been active in the community going back to his high school days.  He was a member of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company as both a firefighter and ambulance attendant.  He coached baseball, softball and basketball in the Parks and Recreation program for many years.  Steve also has served on both the Town’s Historic Preservation Committee and the Town’s Board of Ethics.
